Nesse último domingo (11) rolou o Teen Choice Awards, em sua vigésima edição a premiação fez história. O canal Fox registrou a menor audiência de sua história. A cerimônia foi vista por 722 mil telespectadores nos Estados Unidos, entre 20h e 22h. Edição foi apresentada pela atriz Lucy Halle e pelo youtuber David Dobrik.
O grande destaque da noite ficou com o filme mais prestigiado do ano, ele é obviamente Vingadores Ultimato, o longa com a maior arrecadação do cinema, levou quatro troféus, incluindo o prêmio de Ator Favorito em Filme de Ação para Robert Downey Jr. O estúdio também saiu premiado por Homem-Aranha: Longe de Casa.
Na categoria das séries de TV, a grande premiada da noite ficou com Riverdale recebeu quatro pranchas de surfe. A estatueta da premiação.
Taylor Swift fez história na premiação. A cantora ganhou a nova categoria Ícone Teen Choice. Em seu discurso, ela homenageou a seleção americana de futebol feminino, defendo a importância dele e pela luta de igualdade de gênero, exaltou o amor dos fãs, fez um discurso poderoso e anunciou o terceiro single do Lover, ele será lançado na próxima sexta-feira (16).
O ator Jack Black foi responsável por apresentar o prêmio Década, ele celebra a sua evolução nos últimos 10 anos. Ele foi concebido para os Jonas Brothers. Após um vídeo que emocionou os fãs. Joe, Kevin e Nick entraram para receber o prêmio e fizeram um discurso emocionante e de superação.
